This popcorn is just amazing. I have been buying and eating it for over five years now, and I still have not gotten sick of it. I just don't understand how it is so freaking good!
Even people that I know who insist on putting tons of butter, salt, or other additives on their popcorn enjoy this popcorn... without anything.
It's goodness is astounding, perplexing and addictive. Luckily, it is fairly good for you.
It just occurred to me that I should add that plain popcorn and a tiny bit of strawberry syrup is also suprisingly good. It seems gross to think about it, but the flavors work. I guess in the same way that caramel popcorn works.

Posted by: David at July 22, 2003 03:11 AMThat article you posted is total BS. That guy wasted so much time in his life to research all of the obscure references he makes, and towards what affect? To set up a series of straw man arguments against a news station.
A waste of time, and his argument is full of holes.
I wouldn't dare waste the time he did trying to appear intellectual. I'll only point out one of many mistakes he made.
His second sentence makes a big giant blanket statement that 'the people' never hear 'the truth.' That's a BS statement that you could spin either way for the sake of disagreement or agreement with him. I call that wasting the language, because that statement he made doesn't convey any information at all. It's BS, a filler sentence.
May as well point out the next line too. He says that when a public figure leaves office, they make a disparaging assessment of their intelligence. I'm no politico, but I can guess he's referring to general Tommy Franks saying "I've had enough of this Iraq war" and quitting. Nevertheless, why have the stupidity to make the statement, once again, a blanket statement applying to more people, which is obviously gonna be wrong?
I could go down the paper more, but I don't waste my life like that.
Terrible article, I'm not gonna bother reading the rest of it.
Homeboy, you read 5 lines of an article and decided you hated it? And don't even start about other people's "straw-man arguments"...
Posted by: Dave at July 23, 2003 11:27 AMNo, I actually read the first six paragraphs. They were consistently building up propaganda.
But I'll be nice for ya and read a little past that...oh wait a second, here comes another quote "Like no other substantial media outlet in American history, Fox serves -- voluntarily -- as the propaganda arm of a controversial, manipulative, image-obsessed government."
You could make the same argument of NBC doing the same thing, and since NBC has been around much longer...well, that's that. And that's even assuming that quote has any merit.
On to the next paragraph: "Murdoch is an insatiable parasite, a vampirish lamprey who fastens himself to English-speaking nations and grows fat on their cultural lifeblood, leaving permanently degraded media cultures in his wake." That sounds like a fair assessment of a guy you've never met and only heard of through God-knows who.
The paragraph after that had a whole bunch of assumptions that leads one to believe that Murdoch is akin to a devil worker under the organization Fox that seeks to continue to degrade our society.
Next paragraph: "Belittling other people's patriotism to achieve political leverage is the lowest road a public scoundrel can travel, the road where neo-conservative meets neo-fascist" Is that right? 'Cause I could've sworn flat out lying about other people for the sake of political leverage is a little worse. You can at least argue on the sake of prior achievements that a person isn't patriotic, but to lie about them outright is worse.
And so on, and so forth. Thanks, just wasted more of my time.
Whoa, I haven't been to my own site in a while...
I "posted" that site, because I was still away from home and could not bookmark it to read it later. Which would be now, or... after I'm done writing this.
Anyway, I wouldn't get too mad about all of it, because it really isn't worth your time. You don't know the guy and there isn't much you can do to show these arrogant fools that they are wrong. If you really think you are right all the time, no one is going to get through to you.
I'm bummed now, because I was planning on erasing that URL after I got back to Gainesville, but now it has been commented on and everything, so I suppose I should leave it.
Yeah, it's ok. No hard feelings here.
