For me the Vice Presidential Debates are the most exciting and anticipated of the Election: 2004 debates. These two candidates are the ones that actually have the brains and the speaking ability. These two candidates are people that had actually done something significant on their own before having a political career. (lol, I love my biases)
I think it is unfortunate that most people don't care too much about the vice president, because this year's vice presidential candidates are the part of the election that interests me the most. I've been thinking for a while that Edwards would probably be a better candidate for president than Kerry. I know that I would likely vote for Edwards if he was running against Bush, but as it is now I'd prefer Bush over Kerry.
Anyway, try to make room in your schedule to watch this debate. It is going to a be a good one for sure! It's on at 9PM Eastern time on pretty much any network channel you'll be able to get as well as certain cable channels.
Posted by David at October 4, 2004 03:39 PMYou'd vote for Edwards over Bush? I don't know much about Edwards other than that he's a trial lawyer. What about him do you really like?
Posted by: Jessica at October 4, 2004 10:13 PMYea, I don't get this "they both accomplished significant things before they started thier political career" comment. No obviously, I agree with this in repects to Bush....ie, he truly did very little of any significance before becoming governor of Texas (oh, yea, owning a baseball team can be tough on people, and driving oil companies into the ground is a lot of "hard work" as well). But John Kerry, he went to vietnam (and though people may get tired of hearing it, he volunteered!!! Would anyone out there right now, including myself, ever imagine doing that) and then immediatly at a young age totally got involved with politics and has been in the senate forever now. Now....don't get me wrong, he is definetly no Nader (I love that man), but he isn't exaclty unprepared for the job.
So as not to get my political heartpumping too wildly, i will end this by agreeing that I do indeed like John Edwards and will find this upsoming debate awesome...then again I always enjot debates, and this one should be quite entertaining and unique.

Posted by: Jenn at October 5, 2004 12:16 AMDavid, this is totally offtopic, I hope you don't mind:
Your website frequently comes up 404 for me because I forget to capitalize your name in the URL. That is,
http://gatorpressure.com/david
does not go anywhere. I know this is a fickle point to bring up, but it's sort of a pet peeve of mine to let capitalization be a point of failure in a URL. Perhaps if you could do a symbolic link in your public_html directory (ln -s David/ david) that would help alleviate the confusion.
